Tributes have been paid to teenager Vincent Gomez who died in an accidentclose to Dunluce Castle last week.
Vincent Gomez died while ‘coasteering’ with three friends in water close toDunluce Castle on the north coast last week, Tuesday June 17.
Emergency services including HM Coastguard Air Support from Prestwickattended the incident however he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Belfast Scout Troop’s Venture Scouts said  “It iswith great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Vincent Gomez, aformer Venture scout on Tuesday evening under tragic circumstancesfollowing an incident with friends at the North coast.
Vincent was a dedicated member of the Venture section, attendingexpeditions to Portugal (2017), Hungary (2018) and Denmark (2019), and wasa devoted attendee to every activity organised throughout each year he wasa member. Vincent contributed much during his short time with the 11thBelfast Scout Group and his sudden passing is a shock to all members, inparticular his fellow Venture scouts.

At such a difficult time, we ask that you keep in mind Vincent’s family,his friends who were with him that day and tried valiantly to save his lifeand to his fellow Ventures who are grieving the loss of their friend.
Another member of the 11th Belfast Scout Group has gone home.”
MLA Maurice Bradley said “It’s a tragedy and I would express my deepestsympathy to the immediate family and extended family circle on their loss.The north coast is a wonderful place but a very dangerous place and I wouldurge caution in and around the cliff edges and rocks.”
